Choose hosting for the actual application
A static brochure site can be served as files. A site with database-backed forms, authentication or custom server logic needs a compatible backend as well. Before selecting a hosting service, list the runtime, database, uploaded media and background work the product uses. A successful homepage load does not prove those other pieces work.
Connect the domain without disturbing email
Keep the domain registration in an account the business controls, with renewal reminders and recovery access. Review the existing DNS records before making changes, especially records used by business email. For Cloudflare Pages, register the hostname in the project's Custom domains section and follow its DNS instructions; merely adding a CNAME is not the whole setup.
Configure secrets on the server
A local .env file helps a local development process load configuration. Uploading that file with website assets does not make a hosting platform securely load it. Configure production secrets through the platform's settings or supported deployment tooling. Keep private webhook credentials out of browser code, public folders and screenshots. Bind the production database and verify the application's environment separately from the files.
Run a launch check on the real address
Open the HTTPS domain, navigate directly to an inner page and test the mobile layout. Submit a labelled inquiry and confirm the record, email and any Sheet delivery. Check redirects, missing pages and the sitemap. Agree on who handles renewals, updates and incident recovery.
